Monitor 
LCD screen displays text and images made up of individual dots of colour called pixels

Contains microprocessor that detects which key has been pressed and sends a signal to the control  processing unit (CPU)

Mouse 
As the mouse is moved it sends co-ordinates to the computer, which moves the cursor on the screen

This is the main circuit board. It connects the computer's key components and passes on instructions

The central processing unit is the brains of the and carries out calculations and instructions

This magnetic disk is located within the main body of the computer and stores the computer's programs and data
